Doodles are pictures, animations, and games based on the Google logo that appear on Google 's home page of search in honor of various events, holidays, and jubilees. Every year the Doodles become more technically complex. In 2018, Google made doodles an interactive multiplayer game for the first time.

Halloween 2018

Google released a chic browser doodle game in honor of Halloween. In it, search engine users are invited to play for one of the ghost teams (green or purple) and collect souls for speed. The game is interesting because it features some attributes of cybersporative disciplines - matchmaking, titles and final rating.

Two teams of four ghosts compete in the game, but there may be fewer players if they leave the match before the fight begins. The system will determine whether you play for a purple or green team. The goal of each team is to collect blue shower lights and deliver them to their base in the dungeon. The match lasts two minutes, and the team that will bring more souls will win.

Souls need to be collected on the underground, but you can also steal from rivals if you intercept them on the way to an enemy base. There are big souls in the game who give ten points at once, but they still need to be caught up. For the souls brought to the base you can get buffes (temporary gains) - acceleration, hypnosis, night vision, etc. With their help it is possible to pass through walls, "magnetize" to itself nearest souls and much more.

You can play doodle with friends. To do this, you need to send them a link to the match. In one game there may be no more than eight players (four people on the team). After the match, the game will show how many souls each member of the team has brought, and will also determine the title for the user according to his achievements.

Celebrating Garden Gnomes (Garden Gnome Day)

Google dedicated a new doodle to the famous "garden defenders" - German garden dwarfs. It is noted that figures of dwarves first appeared in Anatolia in the 13th century, and the 16th century reached Italy. Garden dwarfs gained their modern appearance in the 19th century in Thuringia, Germany, where local artisans created them as we know them - with lush beards and in caps. Dwarves gained popularity and spread throughout the country, and later throughout Europe.

According to legend, dwarves protect their gardens and bring good luck to owners. In the new doodle, users are told the story of garden dwarfs, and are invited to play a mini-game where they need to throw dwarfs with the help of a catapult, thus planting flowers. The further the gnome travels, the more flowers you plant - and the more points you earn. Six colorful gnomes with different shapes, weights and elasticity are available to the player.
